Our Story
First Security Bank – Lake Benton was founded in 1906.
Mr. Lloyd Amundson purchased the bank in December, 1979. Mr. Amundson also operates banks in 10 other communities in rural Minnesota.
One of our Bank’s primary goals is to protect our depositors while maintaining our current excellent standards for growth earnings.
We are proud of the contribution our employees and our bank make to Lake Benton. We are actively involved in the many projects and events held in the community each year. We award college scholarships to worthy students whose families have their primary bank relationship with one of our banks. The scholarship amount donated by Mr. Amundson totaled $2,765,000.00 from 1993 through 2007 throughout his many bank locations.
